Apple Rolls Out Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 And iOS 8.1.3 Update

Apple has started rolling out  iOS 8.3 and OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 to its Macs, iPhones and iPads to fix a few annoying bugs.

The OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 includes fixes for Wi-Fi disconnection errors, slow web page loading, security bug that caused spotlight to load remote email content even when the preference was disabled in Mail and language switch issue. 

You can now browse iCloud Drive in Time machine. The quality of VoiceOver speech performance has been improved and a bug that caused VoiceOver to echo characters when entering text on web page has been fixed. Security and stability in Safari web browser have also been improved. Audio and video sync has been imporved when using bluetooth headphones.

  • Improves stability and security in Safari
 
OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 is available for download in the Mac App Store 

Apple also rolled the iOS 8.1.3 update which "includes bug fixes, increased stability and performance improvements." The update decreases the amount of storage requaired to perform a software update. Several users complained when iOS 8 was first launched with a massive download size. The new update weighs 247MB and is pretty huge compared to the previous updates.

It also fixes an issue that prevented some users from entering their Apple ID password for Messages and FaceTime, addresses an issue that caused Spotlight to stop displaying app results. It fixed an issue preventing multitasking gestures from working on iPad. The new update adds new configuration options for education standardized testing.

The update is available via iTunes or OTA. To update via OTA you can go to settings > General > Software update to install the iOS 8.1.3.  You can also update your iOS device via iTunes for Mac and PC. Make sure you back-up your device before updating your device so that you don't lose your files in case something goes wrong.
