Apple Sold 500,000 iPhone 6 in India During Q4 2014

Apple has managed to sell a fair amount of iPhone in India, despite India's growing market for low-budget phone. According to Economic Times the Cupertino company is doing very well as it sold 500,000 units of the Apple iPhone 6 and Apple iPhone 6 Plus in India during the fourth quarter of last year. In the same period of 2013 about 250,000  units of iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c were sold.

The positive response to Apple's new flagship is because users have appreciated the larger 4.7 and 5.5-inch display on the iPhone 6 smartphones.

Apple also changed the terms regarding retail in India by cutting the credit period to retailers in seven days and reducing by 0.5 percentage points, to 1%, their margin. Generally, the terms for Indian retailers, as regards the major manufacturers of smartphones, are given a credit period of 14-15 days. With about 2% of the Indian market, Apple still feels safe to offer a margin ranging from 9 to 11%.

An Indian dealer said that the change in terms will allow Apple to sell even better because the American manufacturer can give customers several payment options including EMI.
