Google Maps Launch Voice-Based Lane Guidance Feature For India

Google has released a new voice-based lane guidance feature for Google Maps in India. The new feature will be available for Android and iOS users which will enable users to see and hear voice-guided instructions in navigation mode, informing them which lance to take.

Google Map's Voice based lane guidance feature will be available for major roads in 20 cities - Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Mysore, Nagpur, Pune, Surat, Thiruvananthapuram, Vadodara and Visakhapatnam. The lane guidance also work for the Mumbai-Pune expressway.

The new feature offers turn by turn voice guidance in English and Hindi. The language can be selected from Settings>Language and input. In addition to English and Hindi, you can also opt for the English (India) language preference on your Android phones to hear the voice-guided instructions spoken back to you in English in the Indian accent

On Wednesday, Google also updated the Google Maps apps for Android and iOS devices with new navigation sharing options and more.

Google also announced its 'Fligh search' feature in India which enables users to search flights by accessing Google.co.in/flights to find, compare and book flights from your mobile, tablet or desktop. Users can also save the itinerary to track its price and compare it with other itineraries or the share the same via e-mail.
