Lenovo A6000 With 4G LTE Support Launched At Rs 6,999 In India

Lenovo has launched its budget 4G smartphone, A6000, at Rs 6,999 in India. At this price, the handset is the cheapest 4G-enabled smartphone available in the market. The A6000 was unveiled during CES 2015 in Las Vegas. India is the first market to get the Lenovo A6000.

Sudhin Mathur, Director, smartphones, Lenovo India said, "The A6000 is the perfect choice for the youth/millennials who want a trendy phone loaded with future proof features and yet not being heavy on the pocket,".

With a price tag of Rs. 6,999, the Lenovo A6000 is offered at a lower price than its competitors Xiaomi and Micromax. Xiaomi's Redmi Note 4G is priced at Rs 9,999 and Micromax Yu Yureka is priced at Rs. 8,999.

The Lenovo A6000 will be exclusively available via Flipkart. The handset will go on sale through flash sale and interested buyers will need to register to be eligible to buy the A6000. Registrations will commence at 6PM IST on January 16 and will end on January 27 at 6PM. The handset will go on sale on January 28 at 2PM via Flipkart. The number of units to be sold is not yet revealed.

As expected, the Lenovo A6000 is compatible with the Band 3 and Band 40 (TDD-LTE) networks used in India. It features a 5-inch IPS display and is powered by 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, paired with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage [microSD card support upto 32GB]. The handset runs Android 4.4 KitKat with Lenovo's Vibe 2.0UI. Android 5.0 Lollipop update will roll out in the near future.

Camera features include an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash and 2-megapixel front camera. The handset is backed by 2300mAh battery which is is rated to deliver up to 13 hours of talk time and up to 264 hours of standby time on 3G network. It measures 141x70x8.2mm and weighs 128 grams.
