Samsung's Low-Budget Tizen Z1 Smartphone Fails To Impress In India
Samsung after much delay finally launched its much hyped Tenzin operating system with its phone Samsung Z1 in India earlier this month. It received cold response from its customers criticizing its low-resolution cameras and few applications offered.
The South Korean giant with Z1 hopes to capture the market making it the world’s third largest phone market. While Samsung promises to offer popular apps Facebook, though it is tapping only a small portion of the offerings on Google Play.
Samsung at present is only targeting Indian markets, as the success of the Tizen Powered phone in India would help acquire greater share in the global market knowing the fact that only one in 10 Indians use a smartphone.
As Samsung Z1 comes with a 3.15 megapixel primary camera and 0.3 front camera with a price tag of $92 (Rs.5700) faces competition from players in the low-end segment. Z1 misses many of the features seen in the Android One phones making it a less preferred phone as it’s not always the price which customers look out for, but the specifications of the phone.
According to the Analysts, Samsung have failed to draw the attention of the software developers to Tailor application for the Tizen powered phones. The Korean electronics company, to motivate developers have considered expansion of Tizen-powered devices like watches and televisions. Also promising to pass all the net revenue generated from the app sales in the Tizen Store to the developers for a year.
