Xiaomi Mi Note Sold Out In Under 3 Minutes In China
The first batch of Xiaomi's latest flasgship offering Mi Note which went on sale in China earlier today, was sold out in under three minutes. There is no details of how many units of the smartphone was up for sale, but Xiaomi VP revealed that the sale received over 220 million registration for the flash sale. The Mi Note was priced at 2,299 Yuan (Rs 23,000 ; $370) for the 16GB variant, and 2,799 Yuan (Rs 28,000 ; $450) for the 64GB model.
Xiaomi claims that it wants to sell 100 million handsets this year. The company has already announced a slew of devices starting with the affordable smartphone Redmi 2, followed by the launch of Mi Note, Mi Note Pro, Mi Headphone, Mi Box Mini and a Bluetooth-enabled game controlller. The company is also expected to launch their 2014 flagship Mi 4 in India on January 28.
The Mi Note features a 5.5-inch full-HD display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with 2.5GHz quad-core CPU and Adreno 330 GPU, paired with 3GB RAM. The handset comes in two storage variants 16GB/64GB. The handset will run Android 4.4 KitKat OS out of the box with MIUI UI on top of it.
Camera features include 13-megapixel rear camera with a Sony IMX214 CMOS sensor, f/2.0 aperture, Optical Image Stabilisation and a Philips 2-tone flash. In the front there is a 4-megapixel camera with 2-micron pixels. It is backed by 3000mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0. It measures 155.1 x 77.6 x 6.9mm while it weighs 161 grams. It is available in black and white colour variants.
