OnePlus Introduces OxygenOS Team, Unveils Logo, Confirms March Release

 Last month, OnePlus announced that its own Android-based custom ROM for the OnePlus One handset will be labelled OxygenOS.

On Thursdy the company introduced the team behind the OxygenOS and revealed a few details. The company also revealed the OxygenOS logo during a Reddit AMAA (Ask Us Almost anything) session. The team confirmed that the OxygenOS will be released in March.


The team working on the OxygenOS includes-
Helen (Canada) who worked as software development engineer and program manager at Microsoft will be their Head of Mobile Product; 
Aaron Gascoigne (USA), one of Paranoid Android's co-founders, who will be the company's Android Technical Lead;
Arz (India) as OnePlus's lead UI/UX designer. He is the lead designer at Paranoid Android.

The team also has Carlo, Heiu, Jesus, Karim and Yamil. The team largely include experts from the Paranoid community. OnePlus also says it has over 50 engineers and testers working on developing OxygenOS.

OnePlus One users will not be able to update their CM11S or CM12S-build handsets to the OxygenOS via an over-the-air update. The will need to manually download and flash the ROM.
The company will be supporting OxygenOS for a span of two years for the OnePlus One smartphone.


According to OnePlus the OxygenOS will be clean, simple to use and free of any bloatware. It will provide better battery life and smoother performance.
