Alcatel OneTouch Hero 2+ with Cyanogen OS coming soon to North America
Alcatel on Monday launched a new Cyanogen OS-based smartphone called OneTouch Hero 2+ at MWC 2015, Barcelona. The device is a 6-inch phablet with octa-core processor present onboard.
Alcatel will bring Cyanogen OS 11, a forkerd version of Android 4.4 KitKat on its OneTouch Hero 2+. It comes with an integrated stylus pen for writing on the go and has optimized handwriting recognition.
The Alcatel OneTouch Hero 2+ features a 6-inch full-HD IPS OGS display with 1920x1080 pixels screen resolution with DragonTrail glass protection. It is powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core Mediatek MT6592 processor paired with Mali 450GPU.
It houses 2GB RAM, 16GB inbuit storage, microSD card slot which supports upto 32GB of storage.
Camera features inclide 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation), LED flash and 1080p Full HD video recording. At the front there is a 5-megapixel camera for taking selfies.
It comes with the usual suite of connectivity options that include 4G LTE Cat.4 / 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, DLNA, Wi-Fi direct Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It is backed by 3100mAh battery, measures 160.5x 81.6 x 7.9mm and weighs 175grams.
The Alcatel One Touch Hero 2+ will first launch in US and Cannada in Q2 for $299 (Rs.18,500). The device will be one of the first Cyanogen OS bases phone to available in Canada and the US. Global release details are unknown.
