Apple hikes iPhone prices in India by as much as Rs 2500

Apple has decided to increase the maximum retail price of the entire iPhone range in India. The hike in price could be the result of changes introduced in the recent budget. Now the excise duty on handsets imported into India has increased by 12.5% from the existing 6%. This move was an attempt push local mobile manufacturing in India.

The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus models will become costlier by Rs. 2500 and the older iPhones - Iphone 5s and iPhone 5c is now costlier by Rs. 2000.
