Google unveils new Chromebook Pixel with dual USB Type-C ports
The Google Chromebook Pixel is a premium laptop, designed to run Google's Chrome OS. It made its debut in 2013, offering a high-resolution touchscreen display and powerful performance. It was priced at $1299.
Now, Google has introduced an updated and more powerful Chromebook Pixel.
The Chromebook Pixel comes with 2.2GHz Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM, 32GB SSD. There is also a Chromebook Pixel LS (Ludicrous Speed) that come with 2.4GHz Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB RAM and 64GB SSD. Other features will be the same.
The Chromebook Pixel features a 12.85-inch display (2560 x 1700 pixels) with 3:2 aspect ratio and 178 degree extra-wide angle viewing. The graphics are handled by Intel HD Graphics 5500
It houses 2x USB Type-C ports, 2x USB 3.0 ports, SD card reader and Headphone/mic combo ports. The two Type-C ports enables multi-device charging, high-speed data and display over the same connector and cable.
Other features include Backlit keyboard, etched-glass trackpad, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, high power stereo speakers and 720p HD webcam. It supports Supports 4K video output over DisplayPort or HDMI with optional Type-C video adapter cable.
The Chromebook Pixel measures 297.7mm x 224.55mm x 15.3mm and weighs 1.5Kg.
The base model (Core i5 CPU, 8GB of RAM, and 32GB SSD) is priced at $999, while the LS model (Core i7 CPU, 16GB RAM and 64GBSSD) is priced at $1,299. Both the laptops will be available to purchase from the new Google store.
The new Google store showcases devices running Android, Android Wear and Chrome OS as well as products like the Chromecast media streamer and Nest smart thermostat and accessories (Cases, Keyboards and charges).
