Lenovo A7000 expected to launch in India on April 7th

Lenovo has sent out press invites for a event scheduled for April 7 in India in which the brand will unveil a device with Dolby Atmos audio which is likely to be the Lenovo A7000.

The invite shows a theatre with 'Save the Date' written on one wall, and on the other 'April 7 2015'. The key to the invite is the Dolby Atmos logo at the bottom corner.

The invite does not give a device name but it confirms that Lenovo will launch the A7000 as it comes with Dolby Atmos. The Lenovo A7000 was unveiled earlier this month at MWC 2015. 

The Lenovo A7000 features 5.5-inch HD IPS display, an octa-core 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6572M processor, 2GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, 8-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front facing camera. The device draws power from 2900mAh battery and runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with Vibe UI on top.

At MWC 2015 Lenovo said that the smartphone will be priced starting $169, so it could be priced around Rs. 10,000 in India. 

It is worth noting that Lenovo's Tab 2 A-10 70 also comes with Dolby Atmos, the tablet was unveiled at MWC 2015. At the announcement Lenovo said that the tablet will launch in April. So we can expect its announcement alongside Lenovo A7000 at the April 7 event.

The Tab 2 A-10 70 features 10-inch FHD IPS display, 64-bit 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, 8-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front facing camera, 7000mAh battery and runs Android 4.4 KitKat. It is priced at $199 (Rs. 12,500)
