Samsung launches Galaxy S6, S6 Edge in India, prices revealed

Samsung announced the launch of its 2015 flagship Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones in India. The two smartphones were unveiled at MWC earlier this month. So far, India is the among the first countries where Samsung has announced the availability details of the devices, the company said "For us India is very very significant market".

The Samsung Galaxy S6 will be available in three storage variants 32GB, 64GB and 128 GB and are priced at Rs. 49,900, Rs. 55,900 and Rs. 61,900 respectively. it will be offered in White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum or Blue Topaz colors.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge will also be available in three storage options - 32GB, 64GB and 128GB and are priced Rs. 58,900, Rs. 64,900 and Rs. 70,900 respectively. It will be offered in White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum or Green Emerald colors.

Pre-orders for both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge will begin today on Samsung's online store. The company also announced that those pre-book the device will get benefits like free one-time replacement on cracked and damaged screen valid for one year and 10,000 payback points and interest-free EMI schemes. Both the devices will go on sale across the country starting April 10.

The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge share the same apart from the battery and changes in dimensions.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge features 5.1-inch Quad HD (2560×1440 pixels) 577 PPI Super AMOLED display. The difference here is that Galaxy S6 has a flat display, while the Galaxy S6 Edge has a dual-curved display that wraps around both the left and right sides.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 is backed by 2550mAh battery while the Galaxy S6 Edge is powered by 2600mAh battery.
