Acer announces 15.6-inch budget-friendly Chromebook 15 CB3-531 for $199

Acer announced a new variant of the Chromebook 15 dubbed CB3-531. The new model has a 15.6-inch display with a screen resolution of 1366x768.

The Chromebook 15 CB3-531 features 15.6-inch LED-backlit TFT display and comes with Acer ComfyView anti-glare properties to minimize the amount of reflecting light for less eye strain and fatigue.

It is powered by Intel Celeron N2830 dual-core processor paired with Intel HD graphics and 2GB RAM. It comes with 16GB of SSD storage and runs on ChromeOS. 

Connectivity features include 802.11 ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 3.0 port, USB 2.0 port and HDMI port. There is also a SD/SDXC card reader that supports up to 128GB SD cards.

The CB3-531 offers 11.5 hours of battery life. Other features include two upward facing speakers and webcam. It measures 15.08x10.08x0.95 inches and weighs just 2kg.

The Acer Chrombook 15 CB3-531 comes with a price tag of $199.99 and will be available in North America starting July. In June it will be available in EMEA Region (Europe, Middle East, Africa) at prices starting at €249. Acer notes that "specifications, prices and availability will vary by region".
