Asus Zenfone 2 launched in India, prices start at Rs 12,999

Asus has launched four variants of its ZenFone 2 smartphone for the Indian market. The Asus ZenFone 2 was initially unveiled at CES 2015 in January and the company claims it to be the world's first smartphone to pack 4GB RAM. Since its launch, Asus has announced several variants of the ZenFone 2. 

The top end model ZenFone 2 ZE551ML features a 5.5-inch full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and Gloves touch support. Under the hood there is a 64-bit Intel Atom Z3580 quad-core processor clocked a 2.3 GHZ paired with 4GB RAM. It comes with either 32GB or 64GB internal storage and microSD card slot for storage expansion options along with 5GB of Asus Webstorage for life.

Camera features include 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash and 5-megapixel front facing camera. It is backed by 3000mAh battery.

The Asus ZenFone 2 ZE551ML is priced at Rs. 19,999 and Rs. 22,999 or the 32GB and 64GB models respectively.

There is also a mid-range version of the ZenFone 2 ZE551ML that is powered by 64-but 1.8GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3560 processor. It comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. Other specs are the same as the 4GB RAM ZenFone 2. It comes with a price tag of Rs. 14,999.

The base model Asus ZenFone 2 ZE550ML features 5.5-inch HD display and is powered by 64-bit 1.8GHz Intel Atom A3560 processor. The smartphone comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. The rest of the specs are similar to ZE551ML models. It comes with a price tag of Rs. 12,999

All the models of ZenFone 2 runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with ZenUI on top. They also feature ZenMotion touch and gesture control support that includes double tap to wake. They comes with the usual suite of connectivity options that includes dual-SIM support, 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. Also, all the ZenFone 2 variants support 4G LTE bands in India - FDD-LTE Band 3 and TDD-LTE Band 40.
