Facebook's 'Riff' is an app for making videos with your friends
Facebook launched a new video sharing app designed by Facebook's Creative Labs team called 'Riff' for iOS and Android devices. The video app lets you create a short video that your friends can add clips to.
The idea here is creating a mash up of clips. Facebook says "Just start a video, say what it’s about and post it on Riff. Anyone can see your videos, but your friends can add to them, and then their friends can add to them, and then their friends…"
Users have to give the 20 seconds video a topic like 'Happy Birthday' or 'April Fools' to let their friends to know what the video is about so that they can add their contents to the video. Already featured videos like "An American in Paris Backstage" and Adventures of Mr. Banana are already becoming viral.
Here's how you use the app
• Log in with Facebook to see videos by friends on Riff
• Start a video you want people to add to
• Browse Riff for videos you want to add your own clip to
• Get inspired by checking out videos the Riff team has featured
• Share the videos you start, add to, or find on Riff with friends!
Riff is available to download for Android and iOS devices. It is compatible with Android devices running OS version 4.3 or higher, while for iOS it is compatible with devices running iOS 8 and later versions.
