Microsoft sends out invites for April 7 event in India, likely to launch Lumia 640 and Lumia 640XL
Microsoft has sent out press invite for an event on April 7 in New Delhi, India. The invitation reads "Inspiration dosen't only work 9 to 5!". On the background of the invite we can see part of a smartphone that looks similar to the Lumia 640 and 640XL, hinting that both the smartphones will be launched in India. The Lumia 640 and Lumia 640XL was announced by Microsoft at MWC 2015, last month.
In addition, both the Lumia 640 and Lumia 640XL are listed in Microsoft India's website as coming soon, although no specific launch date was mentioned. Both handset were spotted at Zauba, import tracking website in India, which listed large quantities of both handset being shipped to India. The Lumia 640 is listed on Flipkart's April commissions payout under the exclusive category.
According to local dealers in India, the Lumia 640 will be priced at Rs. 9,999 ($160), and the 640 XL at Rs. 13,999 ($225) and there could be some small discounts offered.
Coming to the specs the Lumia 640 features 5-inch HD (1280x720 pixels) display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage 8.7-megapixel rear camera, 1-megapixel front facing camera and 2500mAh battery.
The Lumia 640XL on the other hand comes with 5.7-inch (1280x720) HD IPS display, 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB inbuilt storage, 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front facing camera and 3000mAh battery.
