Panasonic Toughpad FZ-E1, FZ-X1 launched in India


Panasonic has expanded its range of rugged tablets in India with the launch of two new tablets - Toughpad FZ-E1 and Toughpad FZ-X1. Both the tablets are marketed as enterprise-focused and B2B tablets.

The Toughpad tablets comes with voice calling capabilities, meets MIL-STD-810G standard, is IP65/IP68 certified for dust and water resistance and has been dropped-tested from a height of 10 feet. They come with an optional ID/2D bar-code reader.

Panasonic's Toughpad FZ-E1 runs Windows Embedded 8.1 Handheld, and is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. The Toughpad FZ-X1 is backed by a 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, and runs the dated Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

The rest of the specifications are identical. Toughpad FZ-E1 and Toughpad FZ-X1 sports 5-inch (1280x720 pixels) display with cd/m2 brightness to avoid sunlight reflection. It packs 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage. Camera department is handled by 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 1.3-megapixel front facing camera.

Connectivity features include 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and micro HDMI port. A 6200mAh battery fuels both the tablet that is rated to deliver up to 14 hours talk time and up to 1000 hours standby.

The Panasonic Toughpad FZ-E1 and FZ-X1 are priced at Rs. 1,19,000 and Rs. 1,09,000, respectively.
