Apple Music goes live, out now in iOS 8.4

Apple released iOS 8.4 to all supported iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The update bring newly revamped Music app that includes Apple's long-awaited revolutionary music streaming service, Apple Music as well as 24 hours worldwide free radio service Beats 1. The new Music app also includes Apple Music Connect, a social network where Artists and fans can connect with one another directly. 


The Apple Music catalog has over over 30 million tracks. Beats 1 is a 24 hours radio service and will be curated by the likes of DJ Zane Lowe, Ebro Darden, and Julie Adenuga. Apple also plans to offer programs like exclusive interviews, guest hosts and what's going on in the world of music. The service will also have a lot of human curation in place for playlists.

Users get a three-month free subscription for Apple Music. Premium subscription fee for Apple Music will cost $9.99 per month. There is also a family plan for the Apple Music, where six members of family can use the service for $14.99 per month.

Apple Music and Beats 1 Radio are also available in India. After a three-month trial users can pay Rs. 120 per month to continue to use the service. There is also a family plan for Rs. 190 per month (for up to six users).

Apart from the revamped Music app, the update also include performance improvements and bug fixes. Apple has also made some changes to the iBooks app which include the ability to browse, download and listen to audiobooks straight from the app.

The iOS 8.4 update is available for iPhone 4s and later, iPod touch (5th gen) and later, iPad 2 and later. To get the update manually go to settings> General> Software update. It is also available through iTunes.
