Dell Venue 8 7000 series tablet launched in India for Rs. 34,999
The Dell Venue 8 7000 tablet was introduced at Intel Developer Forum in September last year, again the tablet was showcased at CES in January. Now the tablet has been launched in India.
At only 6 mm thin, the Dell Venue 8 7000 is the world’s thinnest tablet. It is also the first device to integrate Intel's depth sensing RealSense 3D camera technology which can be used for depth photography, 3D editing and precise measurements.
The tablet has a tri-camera setup at the rear - an 8MP primary shooter and two auxiliary sensors. The three cameras create a high-definition depth map that enables measurement, refocus and apply selected filters with a touch of a finger. No matter where you focus your lens when you snap a picture, you can re-focus it afterward to highlight - or defocus - any section of the image.
The RealSense camera also allows you to measure length, width and height. For example, if you point the RealSense camera toward a furniture and click its photos, you can find out the dimensions. You can also find out the surface area of that wall that needs painting, or rearrange your living room and compare objects with true-to-life data.
Coming to other features, the Dell Venue 8 7000 features 8.4-inch QHD (2560 x 1600 pixels) OLED display. Under the hood there is a 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 Moorefield series processor paired with PowerVR G6430 GPU and 2GB RAM. The tablet comes in two storage options - 16GB and 32GB which is further expandable via microSD card slot up to 512GB. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.
On the front there is a 2-megapixel shooter for video calling and also houses stereo speakers. Connectivity options include dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, Mircast support and micro-USB 2.0 port. It is fueled by a 5900mAh battery that offers 9.8 hours of battery life.
The Dell Venue 8 7000 has been priced at Rs 34,999, and will be available in the country starting July this year.
