Huawei Honor 7 with octa-core SoC, 20MP camera, fingerprint sensor goes official
Huawei's sub-brand Honor announced the company's latest smartphone dubbed Honor 7. It sports an aluminum alloy body and comes in an optional dual-SIM variant.
Huawei Honor 7 sports 5.2-inch full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display and is powered by the company's own 64-bit octa-core Kirin 935 processor (four Cortex-A53 cores at 2.2GHz + four Cortex-A53 at 1.5GHz) paired with Mali-T628 GPU and 3GB RAM. It comes in two storage variants 16GB or 64GB, further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with Emotion UI 3.1 on top.
Camera features include 20-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, Sony IMX230 sensor, f/2.0 aperture and 6P lenses. On the front there is an 8-megapixel shooter with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture and BSI Sensor for capturing better selfies.
Connectivity options include 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, GPS and NFC. It is fueled by 3100mAh battery and comes with fast charging capabilities that lets you charge the phone up to 50% in just 30 minutes and 100% in 1 hour and 25 minutes. It comes in Gold, Sliver and grey colors.
There is also a fingerprint sensor on the back of the smartphone below the rear camera that enables users to unlock the smartphone by just tapping once.
The Huawei Honor 7 is priced at CNY 1999 (Rs. 20,500 | US$ 320) for the 16GB variant, CNY 2199 (Rs. 22,600 | US$ 355) for the 16GB dual-SIM variant, and CNY 2499 (Rs. 25,600 | US$ 405) for the 64GB version. It will be available for order in China from July 1 and goes on sale starting July 7.
