Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 passes TENAA, FCC; could win thinnest title


Samsung is working on two new high-end Android tablets that will succeed last year's Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and Galaxy Tab S 10.5. The two new tablets will comes in two screen size variants 8-inch and 9.7-inch and called Galaxy Tab S 8.0 and Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 respectively. @onelaks has already shared renders and details of the Galaxy Tab S 9.7.

Now, the Samsing Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 with model number SM-T715 has been approved by China's TENAA. In addition, the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 has received FCC certificication. The tablet with model number SM-T815 corresponds to the 4G LTE variant of the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7.

As per TENAA listing Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 features 8-inch AMOLED display with 4:3 ratio and 2048 x 1536 pixels, 1.9GHz octa-core processor (chipset like to be an Exynos 7420), 3GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, microSD card slot, 8-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front facing camera, Android Lollipop pre-installed and optional LTE connectivity support.

The Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 measures 198.2 x 134.5 x 5.4mm and weighs 260g. With just 5.4mm thickness the Tab S2 8.0 could become the world's thinnest tablet.

Samsung's Galaxy Tab S2 will be released worldwide including India, the U.S, Europe, Canada, China, Hong Kong, South Korea and Latin America.
