Sony E5663 specifications surface - 4.6-inch 1080p display, octa-core SoC, 20.7MP camera

An unannounced Sony smartphone with model number E5663 was spotted on GFXbench and Geekbench benchmarking website. The information indicates that Sony is working on a new powerful compact phone.

The Sony E5663 features a 4.6-inch display with 1080 x 1920 pixels. It is worth noting that the Xperia Z3 compact has a 4.6-inch 720p display. Given the screen size, this could mean that the new device is the successor to the Xperia Z3 Compact.

It will be powered by a MediaTek MT6796 processor with 1.9GHz octa-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor with PowerVR G6200 GPU, 3GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. The upcoming phone sports 20.7-megapixel rear and 13-megapixel front facing camera. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.

In related, two devices with model number E5663 showed up on Indian imports and exports tracking website, Zauba. The devices have been imported for testing purposes in the country and the value of the phone is Rs. 11,772.
