Chinese handset brand UMi enters India with the 'Hammer', available on Flipkart for Rs. 10,999
Earlier this year in February, it was reported that Chinese smartphone maker UMi would enter the Indian market with its UMi Zero smartphone. However, the company has made its debut in Indian mobile market with the launch of UMi Hammer. There is no official announcement from the company, but the UMi Hammer is available via Flipkart for Rs. 10,999. This is sold by an agent/ dealer – brands4me.
According to UMi, the Hammer is the world's strongest smartphone that offers a dual-glass screen featuring an IPS glass with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It comes wit Aviation-grade aluminum frame to offer extra durability for accidental drops and has textured polycarbonate back.
UMi Hero features 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) displya and is powered by 1.5GHz quad-core 64-bit MediaTek 6732 processor paired with Mali T760 MP2 GPU and 2GB RAM. On-board storage is 16GB, further expandable via microSD card up to 64GB. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box and is upgradable to Lollipop.
Camerwise it sports 13-megapixel auto-focus camera on the rear with dual-LED flash and 3.2-megapixel front shooter for taking selfies. Connectivity options include 4G LTE with India's upcoming FDD LTE band 3 support, dual-SIM, WiFi, Bluetooth, micro-USB 2.0 and GPS. It is fueled by 2250mAh battery that is rated to deliver up to nine hours of 4G web-browsing, 11 hours of video playback, 28 hours of 2G talk time, and 42 hours of music playback.
The UMi Hammer will be competing against other affordable LTE-enabled handset in India like Lenovo K3 Note, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G, Honor 4X and the recently launched 3G-enable Elephone G7.
