Huawei G8 with octa-core SoC, metal body, fingerprint sensor announced

Huawei has unveiled a number of devices in the first of the year including mid-range handsets, high end handsets like Honor 7 and Huawei P8 and tablets. The company also reported a 30% revenue growth in the first half of 2015.

Now the company has unveiled a new handset dubbed Huawei G8, successor to the Huawei G7. The main highlight of the handset is the fingerprint sensor embedded on the back of it below the main camera.
 
The Huawei G8 features 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display and is powered by a octa-core Snapdragon 615 64-bit processor aided by Adreno 405 GPU. There are two variants based on RAM/ROM - 2GB RAM with 16GB storage and 3GB RAM with 32GB storage. There is also a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 64GB. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with Emotion UI on top and has dual SIM slots.

Camerwise it sports 13-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and PureCel sensor. On the front there a 5-megapixel shooter for taking selfies and video calling. Connectivity features include 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It is fueled by 3000mAh battery. It sports a metal unibody design and comes in either gold, black or white exteriors.

Huawei has also revealed the pricing for the G8. The 2GB RAM/16GB storage model costs US$ 370 (Rs. 24,000) and the 3GB RAM/32GB model has a price tag of US$ 434 (Rs. 28,000).
