Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 with octa-core SoC, 13MP camera launched for Rs. 5,999

Micromax has launched the Canvas Xpress 2 smartphone in India. The company is touting it as the most affordable octa-core smartphone available in the country. It is also the cheapest phone to sport 13-megapixel rear camera.

Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 features 5-inch HD (720 x 1280 pixels) IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Inside there is an 1.4GHz octa-core MediaTek (MT6592M) processor paired with Mali 450 GPU and 1GB RAM. On-board storage is 8GB, further expandable via microSD card up to 32GB. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat and is upgradable to Android 5.0 Lollipop. Camerawise it sports 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with dual-LED flash, OV sensor, 5P Largan Lens and Blue Glass filter. On the front there is a 2-megapixel shooter for taking selfies and making video calls. The dual-SIM Canvas Xpress 2 supports 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity. It is fueled by 2500mAh battery that can deliver up to 9 hours of talk time and up to 393 hours of standby time. It also houses Cirrus Logic Wolfson Stereo DAC chip for enhanced speaker output.

The Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 is priced at Rs. 5,999 and will be available exclusively via Flipkart. It will be sold via flash sale model in the country and the first flash sale will take place on August 4 at 2pm IST for which registrations are now open. The Canvas Xpress 2 comes with 500MB of free 3G data per month for 2 month for Vodafone customers.
