OnePlus 2 to pack 3300mAh battery
OnePlus, in a Reddit AMAA (Ask Me Almost Anything) session, comprised of company executives Michael, Emmanuel, Carl Pei (co-founder), and David revealed some more details of the OnePlus 2.
In response to a query about the expected battery life of OnePlus 2, David replied that it will have a 3300mAh battery. This is a 10% improvement over the 3100mAh present in the OnePlus One.
More interestingly, OnePlus also said that even after packing a bigger battery, it has managed to keep the size of the OnePlus 2 smaller. The company also posted a image (seen above) of the OnePlus One with a OnePlus 2 unit hidden below, indicating the the handset will be smaller than its predecessor.
There will be three variants of OnePlus 2 depending on the market. The differences between them are likely to be network releated. The Europe/Asia model should support WCDMA bands 1/2/5/8, and FDD-LTE bands 1/3/5/7/8/20 while the U.S model will support WCDMA bands 1/2/4/5/8, and FDD-LTE bands 1/2/4/5/7/8/12/17.
Lastly, OnePlus promised that the OnePlus One will be available in markets after the launch of OnePlus 2. Like its predecessor, OnePlus 2 will also be available via "improved version of the invite system and "early supporters" will be prioritized.
OnePlus has been revealing the specs of OnePlus 2 in bits and pieces. So far the company has announced that the OnePlus 2 will feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 SoC, 4GB LPDDR4 RAM, USB Type-C port and finger print sensor. It will be priced below $450 (Rs 28,000).
The OnePlus 2 will be unveiled on July 27 at a Virtual Reality event.
