Xiaomi introduces Mi TV 2S 48-Inch 4K television With 9.9mm Frame

Xiaomi at an event in China introduced its new Mi TV 2s television. According to the company the new Mi TV was "redesigned from head to tail". Xiaomi claims that the new Mi TV 2s offers better clarity, color and contrast when compared to its competition. The Mi TV 2s comes in two variants, a Standard Edition and Cinema Edition

The new MI TV 2s has a 48-inch (3840 x 2160 pixels) 4K display from Samsung with 178-degree viewing angles. Xiaomi said that the 9.9mm thick frame is the thinnest aluminium frame on its Mi TV series. The aluminum alloy frame comes in gold, pink, blue, green and silver colors.

Under the hood the Mi TV 2s is powered by an 1.4GHz quad-core MStar 6A928 Cortex-A17 with Mali-760 MP4 GPU and runs MIUI TV OS based on Android 5.0 Lollipop. It has 2GB RAM, 8GB inbuilt storage and supports Dolby Sound technology. There is also support for WiFi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.0 LE. It houses 3 x HDMI 2.0, VGA port USB 2.0, USB 3.0 port and ethernet.

The MI TV 2s supports H.265 10-bit hardware video decoding, Dolby MS12 virtual surround sound and has automatic volume adjustment. It comes with optional 80W wireless sub-woofer that has 8 speaker soundbar and aluminum build.

The Xiaomi Mi TV 2s Standard Edition is priced at CNY 2,999 (US$ 483 | Rs. 31,000) while the Cinema Edition costs CNY 3,999 (US$ 644 | Rs. 41,000). They will go on sale in China starting July 28.
