Samsung said to be working on 18.4-inch Android tablet and 12-inch Windows tablet

Samsung has already launched a bunch of tablets this year including Galaxy Tab S2, Galaxy Tab A and Galaxy Tab E, but it plans to bring more tablets to the market. The company is said to be working on a Windows 10 and Android tablet.

Samsung Android tablet is said to be huge that could be used in living rooms, offices or schools, presumably as a coffee table. The tablet with model number SM-T670, codenamed 'Tahoe' sports 18.4-inch TFT LCD display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Under the hood it has 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 7580 processor with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage. For storage expansion, a microSD card slot is present. The tablet will apparently have an 8-megapixel primary camera and 2.1-megapixel secondary camera. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and is fueled by 5700mAh battery. The 18.4-inch tablet will be 451.8mm wide, 275.8mm tall and 11.9mm thick.

Samsung's tablet still isn't going to be the biggest tablet out there, Panasonic launched a tablet at CES that sports 20-inch display with 4K resolution.

Samsung is also said to be working on a 12-inch Windows tablet running Windows 10. The rumor comes from a China-based Weibo user, so take it with a pinch of salt. The 12-inch screen will have a resolution of 2560 x 1600 or 3840 x 2400 pixels. It is powered by 14nm Intel Core M Chip with 4GB RAM. It is 6.2mm thick and weighs 600g. The tablet will come with an S Pen and may offer some of the same capabilities found on Galaxy Note 5.

It is also speculated that the Windows powered tablet might be launched in October, the same time when Microsoft launches its Surface Pro 4.

Windows 10 OS was released last month and Microsoft might have started discussion with OEMs to bring Windows 10 on their devices and Samsung could be one of them.

Samsung has already launched a line of Windows tablets under the ATIV brand back in 2013.
