UMi Hammer S with USB Type-C port, fingerprint sensor gets official

Chinese smartphone maker UMi has officially launched the Hammer S. It is a mid-range handset and comes with USB Type-C port and fingerprint scanner which is rear in a mid-range phone.

UMi Hammer S features 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display with 2.5D Glass and is powered by 1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor paired with 2GB RAM. On-board storage is 16GB, further expandable via microSD card. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop, has dual Hybrid SIM slot and supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS and microUSB 2.0.

For imaging there is 13-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and Sony IMX179. On the front there is a 2-megapixel camera for clicking selfies. The fingerprint scanner is placed below the camera module. Fueling the Hammer S is a 3200mAh battery. There is also a 'Home+' feature which works as an IR Blaster for controlling all the other electronic appliances.

The UMi Hammer S is now available for pre-order for $149.99. You can also buy it from resellers across the country. Hammer S will go on sale from September 15.
