Acer Predator 8 gaming tablet officially launches

At the ongoing IFA 2015 in Berlin, Germany, Acer unveiled an Android gaming tablet dubbed Predator 8 GT-810. The tablet has been designed keeping gamers in mind.

Acer has collaborated with Gameloft for the tablet right from the design stage for a enhanced gaming experience. It comes pre-loaded with Asphalt 8 and 320,000 games. There are four front facing speakers that are controlled with Acer's own DSP algorithm which will 'enhance sound quality with virtual surround'. It also comes with Predator Quadio and Dolby Audio. The tablet has an propritary app called Predator MediaMaster which lets users to set up audio and video settings in various modes such as standard album, movie or game use.

As for hardware specs, Acer Predator 8 GT-801 features 8-inch Full HD (1920 x 1200 pixels) zero air gap, IPS display with Predator ColorBlast tech for 100% NTSC color gamut. Inside there is an Intel Atom x7 processor with Intel HD graphics (Gen 8 LP) with 2GB RAM. It comes in two storage option- 32GB or 64GB, further expandable via microSD card up to 128GB.

For imaging there is 5-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front shooter. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and for connectivity there is 2x2 MIMO wireless technology. The is 8.7mm thin and weighs350 grams. 

Acer is launching the Predator 8 on November 6 in North America starting at $299 and in October in Europe and China for €349 and ¥2499 accordingly.
