Apple iPhone 6s Plus with 5.5-inch display, 3D Force Touch, 12MP camera announced
Apple at its special event in San Francisco launched the bigger sibling of iPhone 6s, the iPhone 6s Plus. CEO Tim Cook described the new iPhone "as the most advanced phones ever". It features the same specs as iPhone 6s, but comes with a bigger display.
Apple iPhone 6s Plus sports 5.5-inch display with 1080 x 1920 pixels of resolution. The display is covered bny a layer of dual ion-exchange strengthened glass, which is incredibly durable and Apple claims it to be the strongest cover glass in the industry. The display comes with 3D Touch technology which gives the display's surface pressure-sensing abilities, which comes with a range of new interaction gestures.
iPhone 6s Plus has a thickness of just 7.3mm and weighs 192g. The body is made out of metal and Apple has used a stronger grade of Aluminum 7000-series. The Touch ID finger print scanner is built into the home button and is twice as faster at reading fingerprints.
The iPhone 6s Plus uses Apple's new A9 64-bit SoC. It is 70% faster at CPU tasks and up to 90% faster at GPU tasks compared to the A8. The M9 motion co-processor is integrated into the A9 and connects to the accelerometer, compass, gyroscope, and barometer of the device. The power efficiency of M9 allows Siri to be in stand-by all the time, and now you can wake her up at anytime using the voice command "Hey Siri".
For storage there are three options, 16GB, 64GB and 128GB. There is no support for microSD card.
Apple has ditched the 8-megapixel camera sensor and now has 12-megapixel iSight camera with True Tone LED flash. It can also shoot 4K videos. On the front there is 5-megapixel Face time camera with Retina Flash mode, where the display will light up to act as flash.
The Apple iPhone 6s Plus comes in Silver, gray, gold and a new fourth color option, rose gold. Despite having an identical feature set to the compact 4.7-inch iPhone 6, Apple puts a $100 premium for the iPhone 6S Plus’ bigger screen. The base model 16GB is priced at $299, 64GB model costs $399 and the 64GB model will set you back by $499.

The iPhone 6s Plus goes on preorder in the US, UK, Australia and nine other countries on September 12th, and will go on sale on September 25th. They will go on sale in over 130 countries by the end of the year.
