Lenovo unveils Yoga Tab 3 8", Yoga Tab 3 10"
Lenovo at IFA 2015 announced the Yoga Tab 3 series with Android on-board starting with the entry-level Tab 3 8-inch and Tab 3 10-inch. Both tablets share the same specs, the battery capacity is an exception, considering the screen size.
Both tablets features Lenovo's signature foldable stand, together with the hangerhole, which allows users to prop the tablets in various ways. The stereo speakers housed in front of the tablet is powered by Dolby Atmos 3D Surround sound tech.
The Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 8" sports 8-inch HD (1280 x 800 pixels) IPS display with 10-point multitouch and is equipped with AnyPen technology, allowing metal object to be used as stylus. Inside there is a 1.3GHz quad-core processor by Qualcomm with 1GB RAM and 16GB on-board storage, further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop.
The 8-megapixel camera sits atop the rotatable module and acts as both rear and front shooter. It comes with nifty gesture control, perfect for taking photos and videos at nearly any angle. You can simply open and close a hand to take a photo. On the connectivity front it supports LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0. It is fueled by 6200mAh battery which offers up to 20 hours of usage on a single charge.
The 10-inch model of Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 offers similar specs as the 8-inch model of Yoga Tab 3 but comes with a 8400mAh battery, which offers up to 18 hours of usage on a single charge.
Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 8" is priced at $169 (WiFi model) and $199 (LTE model) and will be available from October. The Yoga Tab 3 10" costs $199 for the WiFi model and $249 for the LTE model and will be available in November.
