Asus announces VivoBook 4K, a Windows 10 15.6-inch laptop with 4K/UHD IPS display
Asus launched its new VivoBook 4K, a mainstream 15.6-inch notebook incorporating a 4K display, featuring a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels.
The UHD IPS screen has a pixel density of 282ppi and 178-degree viewing angle with a 100 percent SRGB color gamut, offering vivid colors even when viewed at extreme angles. The screen also incorporates a feature called ASUS Eye Care which is said to reduce blue-light levels by 33 percent, for comfort viewing experience.
The VivoBook 4K will be available in both 5th or 6th generation Intel Core i7 processors with 8GB of RAM (expandable to 12GB) and an Nvidia GeForce 940M graphics with dedicated 2GB DDR3 VRAM GPU. It will come in storage options of 500GB HDD, 1TB HDD, 1.5TB HDD, 2TB HDD, 128GB SSD or 256GB SSD.
Other features include Super-Multi DVD player, 3-in-1 card reader, VGA camera, two USB 3.0 ports, a USB 2.0 port, HDMI port, VGA port and LAN RJ45 jack. On the software front it runs Windows 10. It also has a 2W stereo speakers and a 2-cell 37 Whr battery.
The notebook sports a brushed metal finish, weighs around 2.3kg and comes in Icicle Gold, Glacier Grey, Black, and Navy Blue color variants. The keyboard is surrounded by sand-blasted metal surfaces, while the power button features a spun-metal finish.
Asus has not revealed the pricing and availability of Asus VivoBook 4K.
