Apple Watch launched in India, prices start at Rs. 30,900

The Apple Watch is now available to buy in India from authorized resellers. It is also available from Flipkart online, but there are no details about other online retailers yet.

The Apple Watch features a retina display with Force Touch and Ion-X glass, a hardened glass to prevent scratches. The 38mm version has a 1.34-inch (272 x 340 pixels) AMOLED display and the 42mm version has a 1.54-inch (312 x 390 pixels) AMOLED display. The features include a built-in gyroscope, heart rate sensor, Taptic Engine to recognize inputs and Ambient light sensor which automatically adjust the brightness. It has speaker for alerts and microphone for Siri, Apple's voice-activated assistant. For wireless connectivity there is WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC for Apple Pay. It runs Web OS 2 and is IPX7 certified for water resistance, but it is not water proof.

Apple Watch comes in multiple variants – the Apple Watch, Watch Sport, and the Watch Edition, which are available in 38mm and 42mm sizes. Prices start at 30,900 and goes all the way up to a whooping 14,20,000. A variety of different Apple Watch bands will also be available- The 38mm / 42mm (White, Black, Green, Pink, Vintage, Rose, Turquoise, Stone, Midnight Blue, Antique, Lavender, Fog, Walnut) Sport Band will be priced at Rs. 3,900 and it goes up to Rs. 46,900 for the 38mm or 42mm Link Bracelet band.
