Gionee Marathon M5 with 6020mAh battery launched in India for Rs. 17,999

Gionee launched its latest Marathon series battery centric smartphone, the Marathon M5 in India. The main highlight of the device is its two 3010 battery cells offering a total battery capacity of 6020mAh. 

It comes with an extreme mode where 5% of battery life can ensure up to 62 hours of standby time. It also comes with dual charging chips for fast charging as well. The phone offers two days of regular usage, and lasts four days on normal usage. The Marathon M5 can be even used as a power bank to charge two phone at the same time. Considering the massive battery, Gionee has managed to keep the Marathon M5’s thickness to an acceptable limit of 8.5mm with the outer rim measuring 4.75mm. It has unibody metal build with a narrow frame. 

The Gionee M5 Marathon features 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) AMOLED plus display and is powered by 1.5 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 64-bit processor with Mali-T720, 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, further expandable via microSD card. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with Amigo UI 3.1 on top. For imaging there is 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 5P lenses, and can record 1080p videos. Front facing camera is 5-megapixel. Connectivity features include 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, Dual SIM, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and USB OTG. It comes in Black, White and Gold colors.
