Nomad Wallet and Ion Belt acts as powerbank as well

A powerbank is just what you need when you are on the go, since smartphones at present hardly give battery backup of day. On certain occasions, it can be simply life-saving. There are several companies trying to integrate the powerbank into everyday accessories which we carry along.

For this purpose two new gadgets recently made headlines- the Nomad leather wallet and Ion Belt, which also acts as a battery charger.

The Nomad Wallet looks and feels like any ordinary wallet sporting leather exterior, space for keeping credit/debit cards, and place for keeping cash and bills. The battery sits in the middle or the hinge of the wallet as it is a foldable style wallet. The battery capacity is 2400mAh and can be charged in just a few hours. It comes with lightning connector, so it can only be used to charge iPhones and are not compatible with Android devices. It measures 25 x 85 x 125mm in dimension, which is similar to any other regular leather wallet.

The Nomad Wallet is available for pre-order from the company’s website, it is available at a promotional  price of $80 and will start shipping from November 15. The price will be increased to $90 after the said date.

Coming to Ion Belt, the accessory is part belt, part external powerbank. The Ion Belt puts a 3000mAh battery, which holds enough charge to completely refill the battery of your Android and iOS devices.

The Ion Belt comes with an LED indicator that shows how much juice is left in the battery. It can be charged through a USB plug, that also doubles as the buckle knock. You can charge your devices by plugging a USB cable in the other end of the belt. The belt is made out of leather and comes with polished buckles, which fits most outfits.

The Ion Belt inventor, says that you need not worry about the powerbank getting damaged and lighting your pants on fire, as a patented technology ensures that the battery modules are properly isolated from the outside world.

The Ion Belt is up for funding on Kickstarter, a crowd souring website. If the campaign turns out to be successful, the Ion Belt will be priced at $139. If you back the project now, you can get the Ion Belt for $89. At present the Ion Belt project has raised $34,612 out of its $50,000 goal with just 33 days for the campaign to end.
