NVIDIA Jetson TX1 brings A.I to new generation of Robots and Drones
NVIDIA has unveiled the Jetson TX1- a credit card-sized supercomputer designed for new generation autonomous robots and drones. With the Jetson TX1, NVIDIA aims to create a new wave of smart devices like drones, that can navigate on their own, identify suspicious activity, and robots that can perform tasks tailored to individual habits through machine learning, computer vision, navigation and more.
NVIDIA says that the Jetson TX1 is the "first embedded computer design to process deep neural networks- computer software that can learn to recognize objects or interpret information". That means it can "see" something, process information about what it's seeing, and learn from it all.
With 1 teraflops of performance Jetson offers exceptional performance for machine learning, computer vision, GPU computing and graphics, while drawing little power as compared to the fastest supercomputer from 15 years ago.
NVIDIA Jetson TX1 Key features
The NVIDIA Jetson TX1 Developer Kit will be available for pre-order on November 12 for $599 in the US, with availability in other regions in the next few weeks.. The stand-alone module will cost $299 and will ship in the Q1 2016.
