Google's Cardboard Camera app turns Android phone into VR camera
If you own Google's Cardboard VR headset and an Android phone, the Google has got something new for you. Google has outed Cardboard Camera app for Android, that will turn your phone into a 3D virtual reality camera that lets you create VR-style photographs. In simple words, it lets you create 360 degree panoramic photos in Virtual reality.
You will have to move your phone around in a spheical pattern to capture the entire surrounding landscape to capture a VR style photo. After the photo is captured, you can place your phone inside the Google Cardboard viewer and view the images that also include the movement and sound, which you can see and hear in VR.
Unfortunately, you won't be able to share the photos with your friends, so you will have to just email it to them.
"Cardboard Camera takes VR photos—moments in time you can relive in virtual reality. Hear the sounds as they happened, and look around to see the scene in every direction. VR photos are 3D, so near things look near and far things look far. Whether its a vacation getaway or a family get-together, VR photos bring you back to that moment," reads Google's description.
