LG brings home security and augmented reality to HOM-BOT Turbo+ robotic vaccum cleaner

LG Electronics announced that they will unveil HOM-BOT Turbo+ robotic vacuum cleaner which is equipped with augmented reality technology at CES 2016. The vacuum cleaner can be controlled via smartphone and also doubles up as a security camera.

The HOM-BOT Turbo+ is a robotic vacuum cleaner which uses augmented reality technology with a feature called Home-Joy, which lets you select the part of the room to clean by selecting in the image. You can even designate which areas needs extra cleaning using your smartphone camera.

To keep track of areas already cleaned, there is a feature called Triple Eye camera sensors, which record the surrounding including the ceiling. The vacuum cleaner can be controlled from anywhere using the Home-View and Home-Gaurd feature via the camera located on the front.

With Home-View feature, users can view real-time feed of their home on their devices using the camera on the front of the vacuum cleaner, enabling them to remotely control the HOM-BOT Turbo+ and clean the home anytime, anywhere. While the Home-Guard feature, offers extra security by sending photos of your house to the paired smartphone, when there is movement when you're out.

There is also a intelligent software feature called Robonavi which utilizes that robot's dual CPU to make fast directional decision which help the vacuum cleaner avoid obstacles in its way like stairs, etc around the house. It has a noise level of 60dB, and comes with an inbuilt 80V lithium battery that promises 40 minutes of continuous cleaning or guarding before needing to be charged.

LG will showcase the HOM-BOT Turbo+ vacuum cleaner at CES 2016, Las Vegas, one of the largest consumer electronics trade shows, which takes place between January 6 to January 9.
