LG G5 to sport metal body, secondary ticker display, dual camera and a 'Magic Slot'
Last week, specification, features, design and an image of the primary camera of LG G5 surfaced online. Now Hitting the interweb are fresh details about LG's next flagship, the G5 courtesy of Evan Blass, better known as @evleaks.
According to evleaks, the LG G5 will sport an all-metal premium body, which will take cues from the LG V10. Apart from the build, the G5 will also have a secondary display as the 'ticker display', which is also seen on LG V10. The ticker display will bear the resolution of 160 x 1040 pixels. It is also being suggested that the ticker display will be one of the highlight feature for majority of LG's 2016 smartphone line up.
The display of G5 will be smaller at 5.3-inch display as compared to LG G4's 5.5-inch. This screen will have a 1440 x 2560 resolution. Coming to the processor, the G5 is expected to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 SoC with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. One of the most interesting addition to the G5 is said to be 'Magic Slot' which will be linked with some kind of hardware expansion using modules. "The examples we were given range from an array of specified cameras — action, 360 VR, 'party' — to an audio amplifier to a physical keyboard,” reads the report for the magic slot.
Camera has always been a plus point of LG smartphones and same is expected from G5. It will be equipped with dual 16-megapixel rear camera with 135-degree wide-angle capability. The rear facing dual camera will feature RGB sensor and laser auto-focus for quick response time. Front facing camera will be 8-megapixel similar to the G4. The LG G5 will also sport a fingerprint sensor, which will sit on the rear panel beneath the camera, similar to the Nexus 5x. The device will be fueled by 2800mAh battery.
Note that, all the details revealed by @evleaks is line with last weeks report, which mentioned some of the above specifications.
The LG G5 is expected to be announced Q1 2016. To recall, the LG G4 was unveiled in April this year.
