TCL Pride T500L with Iris scanner launched in India for Rs. 10,499
Chinese brand TCL has launched the Pride T500L smartphone in India. The main highlight is the Iris (retina) scanner, which is a Eyeprint identification method for password-free eye-based biometric unlocking solution. It works by imaging unique vein patterns in the human eye using the smartphone's front facing camera to unlock the device.
The TCL Pride T500L features 5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display and is equipped with Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor, further aided by Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB RAM. On-board storage capacity is 16GB, further expandable via microSD card up to 32GB.
For photography, it sports 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, Sony Exmor RS sensor, 5P lens and f/2.2 aperture. On the front sits a 8-megapixel shooter with LED flash, f.2,2 aperture and 88-degree wide-angle lens.
It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop, has dual SIM slots and supports 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS connectivity. Under the hood is a 3050mAh battery.
The TCL Pride T500L is priced at Rs. 10,499 and is available exclusively from Snapdeal. It comes in White and Black colors.
For those unaware, TCL Corporation is the parent company of the Alcatel OneTouch smartphone brand.
