HTC and Under Armour announce UA Healthbox, a fitness kit
HTC in collabaration with Under Armour has announced UA HealthBox, a fitness kit that comprises UA Band (fitness band), UA Hear Rate (heart rate monitor) and UA Scale (Smart Scale). According to HTC, the kit "contains everything a consumer needs to better manage their health and fitness."
The UA Band tracks daily activity, workouts and sleep. It comes with 1.36-inch PMOLED monochrome display which HTC Calls is "discreetly hidden". The device is water resistant at 2ATM for up to 20 meters of depth and during workout the display stays on. It comes with an LED that indicates heart rate Zone when paired with UA Heart Rate.
The UA Heart Rate is comprised of a chest strap and removable sensors that monitors heart rate and features a "micro Snap technology" which make it undetectable during workouts. HTC says that, the UA Heart Rate was created to "provide an accurate calculation of calories burned"
The UA Scale is WiFi enabled and sports a circular design, LED display and a sheet of glass with advanced conductive paint technology that enable weight and body fat percentage readings. It can support up to eight users each with their profile.
The HealthBox is designed and manufactured by HTC and powered by UA Record to provide insights that empower individuals to improve their health and fitness. The UA Record can be downloaded from the Google Play store and App StoreThe UA HealthBox (UA Band, UA Heart Rate and UA Scale) is priced at $400 and is now up for pre-orders on both HTC and Under Armour websites. It will be available on January 22 and will roll out to additional retailers in Q1 2016, followed by global roll out throughout 2016.
