Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 edge and S7 edge+ could be launched together
Until now it was being said that Samsung will launch two flagships, the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge at the rumored February event. Now if a new leak from @evleaks is to be believed, there is a third device- the Galaxy S7 edge+ which could also make an appearance at the same time.
@evleaks tweeted an image, what looks to be part of Samsung's promotional material with all the three devices name written on it. The image could be mocked up on photoshop, so its best to take the leak with a pinch of salt.
To recall, the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge were launched at MWC 2016, but the Galaxy S6 edge+ released alongside the Note5 in September 2015. This year, it appears like Samsung is planning to launch all three variants at the same time (Galaxy S7, S7 edge and S7 edge+), leaving the Note6 for a solo announcement later this year. There is also a possibility that Samsung would bring back an Edge variant of the Note6, along with the regular variant.
Recently, the Galaxy S7 edge was spotted on AnTuTu, and it suggested that the phone would have 5.1-inch display, but the screen sizes of the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge+ is not known. If Samsung go with the same size that it used for Galaxy S6 edge and S6 edge+, the screen size could be 5.1-inches (S7 edge) and 5.7-inches (S7 edge+).
Other specs AnTuTu revealed include Snapdragon 820 SoC with Adreno 530 GPU, 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, 12-megapixel camera, 5-megapixel front camera and Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The main camera unit in the Galaxy S7 series (S7, S7 edge and S7 edge+) are expected to use Samsung's new BRITECELL technology, that promises better low-light performance and a wider dynamic range as compared to the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge's 16-megapixel camera.
Normally, Samsung launches its flagship smartphone in March and April, however an earlier launch is expected this year, sometime in February.
