Eurocom's Sky X9W mobile workstation has 64GB RAM, 5TB SSD, 6 USB Ports

Canada based PC maker Eurocom's Sky X9W laptop is a 'mobile workstation' that comes packed with top-of-the-line desktop-class specifications. For those unaware, a mobile workstation is a laptop with top-end hardware including faster graphic processor, more powerful CPU and additional memory. These machines are capable of handling 3D design, scientific computing and multimedia creation with ease.

Hardware-wise, the Sky X9W is armed with quad-core Intel Core i7 Skylake S 6700K SoC and Intel Z170 Express Skylake chipset. Users will also have the option to opt for a model with Intel Core Skylake-S i5 6600L or Core Skylake-S i7 6700. The multiple fans inside helps in cooling down the processor.

The graphics on Sky X9W is handled by 8GB Nvidia Quadro M5000M, 4GB Nvidia Quadro M3000M, or a single 200W desktop class 4GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 980. The base model come with 16GB RAM and goes up to 64GB. For storage, the workstation can be confirgured with up to 5TB SSD storage with RAID 10 configuration.

The Sky X9W comes with 17.3-inch display with 4K resolution, with the option of a Full HD (1080p) display. It comes with 5 x USB 3.0 ports, a USB 3.1 port, USB Type-C port, MiniDisplay port (can power up to four monitors), HDMI outlet, headphone jack and 2 x RS45 ports. It runs Windows 10 and is equipped with a Fingerprint scanner for added security. The laptop weighs 4.8kgs.

The Eurocom Sky X9W prices start at $2390 (Rs. 198,000) for the base model and $11,473 (775,000) for the top-end model. It comes with a carrying case and a 3-year warranty.
