LG announces X cam, X screen smartphones

LG has introduced its new X-series of smartphone that will be showcased at MWC 2016, Barcelona. The first two models of the X-series are the X cam and X screen running Android 6.0 Marshmallow. As the name indicates, the X cam is a camera centric-smartphone with dual-camera setup on rear, while the X screen sports a Always On second screen, similar to LG V10.

The LG X cam sports a 5.2-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS In-Cell Touch display and is powered by 1.14GHz octa-core processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, further expandable via microSD card up to 2TB. For photography, it sports 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel rear camera, with LED flash and 8-megapixel front snapper. It supports 4G LTE, NFC (optional) connectivity and is fueled by 2520mAh battery.

The LG X screen has a 4.93-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels IPS In-Cell Touch display and an 'Always On' 1.76 (520 x 80 pixels) LCD secondary display. The secondary display allows users to easily access frequently used apps, answer calls, control music playback and check the time, date, notifications and battery status without interrupting the current activity on the main screen.

As for the other specs the X screen is equipped with 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, which can be increased up to 2TB via microSD card 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 8-megapixel front snapper. It supports 4G LTE, NFC (optional) connectivity and is fueled by 2300mAh battery.

The LG X cam and LG X screen will roll in key markets in Asia, Europe and Latin America starting March 2016. The X cam comes in Titan Silver, White, Gold and Pink Gold colors, while the X screen comes in Black, White and Pink Gold colors.
