Sony's 'Future Lab Program' asks for user feedback on concept prototypes


Sony has announced the launch of a new R&D initiative called the "Future Lab Program". Under the new program, the company aims to to share concept prototypes with users that is in development stage, and based on their feedback, Sony will refine and evolve the product. 

Future Lab Program's first project is known as 'N', a wearable device that is currently work-in-progress. The wearable device features a hands-free user interface, that Sony claims to create new ways of experiencing audio such as music and sound. The prototype device will also allow the user to receive audio information without having to insert any object into the ears. The teaser photo suggests that the device will be worn around the neck.


The details about 'N' is scarce, but Sony says that it will unveil a number of concept prototypes including 'N' at SXSW Interactive Festival, that begins March 12 in Austin, Texas.
