Facebook adds Hindi transliteration feature on Android app

Facebook has added a nifty new feature in its app for Android devices for Indian users. The apps gets a lightweight Hindi editor, which is capable of automatically translating English text to Hindi before posting.

Facebook for Android v73 adds a small Hindi editor keyboard icon right above the onscreen keyboard. By tapping this icon, you'll be able to type a word in English, Hindi or any other language in the English Roman scirpt, and have it automatically converted to Devanagari script as you type. In case you're not happy with the translation, you can change any of the translated Devanagari letters by tapping the keyboard icon on the left side.

The Hindi editor keyboard is also capable of remembering words you translate in Hindi. Note that, to use this feature, you'll first have to activate the Hindi Keyboard option in the Facebook app to get access to it.

The updated Facebook app is available to download from the Google Play.
