Google, RailTel launch free WiFi services at nine additional stations across India


Last year RailTel and Google announced the launch of free RailWire free WiFi services at railway stations in India and Mumbai Central station was the first to get the service in January this year. Now the free high-speed WiFi services has been expanded to nine additional railway stations across the country including Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, Ernakulum Jn (Kochi), Kacheguda (Hyderabad), Pune, Ranchi, Raipur, Vijayawada, and Vishakhapatnam. 

Google also said that over 100,000 people per week used the free WiFi service at the Mumbai Central station, and with the addition of nine new stations, Google estimates that the service will be accessible to 1.5 million users every day.

To get access to free WiFi service, you'll have to select RailWire network on you devices WiFi setting, go to railwire.co.in from your devices browser, enter your phone number on the WiFi login screen and request for OTP SMS. Once you get the 4-digit OTP code, enter it in the log in screen and press on 'Done'.

Google aims to have the free WiFi services operation in 100 more station by the end of 2016, and eventually roll out to cover 400 stations acorss the country.
