Google's VR View tool allows easy embedding of 360-degree content to apps and websites
In a bid to make 360-degree content accessible for more people, Google has announced VR View, a tool that will allow developers to easily embed 360 degree VR content like photos and videos to apps and websites.
The tool take 360 degree VR images or videos and converts them into interactive experiences that can be viewed on Google Cardboard, or a single lens Magic Window viewer. VR View supports photos taken with Cardboard Camera app and Ricoh Theta camera.
Google has also added iOS support to the Cardboard SDK. Google said that the VR View can be embedded into native apps "by grabbing the latest Cardboard SDK for Android and iOS and adding a few lines of code. For Web, embedding VR View is simple as adding an iframe on your website" The Cardboard SDK includes a variety of tools to help in building VR software, including 3D calibration, head tracking and spatial audio.
