Meizu m3 with 5-inch display, octa-core CPU goes official
Following the launch of the m3 Note and Pro 6, Meizu has announced a new smartphone, that will succeed the m2, dubbed Meizu m3 in China. The Meizu m3 keeps the same poly-carbonate body as the m2, while offering a few minor hardware upgrade in the processor, configuration and battery department. It also sports the mBack button, which offers both mechanical and capacitive touch feedback.
The Meizu m3 features 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) 2.5D curved class display and is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT67540 processor backed by Mali T860 GPU. The phone comes in two variants, 2GB RAM + 16GB storage (and) 3GB RAM + 32GB storage. It house hybrid dual-SIM that lets you use the second slot as microSD card slot (up to 128GB). It runs the custom Flyme OS 5.1 which is based on Android Lollipop.
The camera department gets 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, f/2.2 aperture and 5P lens. For clicking selfies and video calling you get a 5-megapixel shooter. Connectivity duties are handled by 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It is backed by 2870mAh battery. Unfortunately, there is no fingerprint scanner on-board.
The Meizu m3 2GB RAM + 16GB storage model is priced at CNY 599 ($92 | Rs. 6,000), and the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage costs CNY 799 ($122 | Rs. 8,200). It comes in Gold, White, Grey, Blue and Pink colors, and is now up for order from Meizu's official store. Shipping starts from April 29.
